June 2018- Candice Limper and Orchi Anannya join the lab. Welcome!

May 2018- Albert Wang was accepted into Albert Einstein's MD/PhD program. Congratulations, Albert!

May 2018- Candice Limper won the First Year Graduate Student of the Year Award from the DPE in the College of Engineering. The award recognizes students who have made a significant contribution to DPE, the College of Engineering, and the lives of others by demonstrating initiative and positively contributing to the college’s climate toward diversity. Candice is the creator of Limper Science, a unique space that advocates for all first-generation students in STEM

April 2018- Sabrina Solouki received an Honorable mention for her participation in the 3-minute thesis competition. Sabrina summarized her research topic in a compelling story about the role of ITK in the development of memory T cells. She is thankful to Candice and Luisa for their help on slide design and presentation delivery

January 2018- Dr. Avery August started his term as Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, an entirely new position for the Cornell administration. In this new appointment, Avery will lead faculty recruitment and will be responsible for overseeing the Provost’s Office of Faculty Development and Diversity

December 2017- The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) selected Dr. Avery August as an HHMI Professor, an award that recognizes excellence in research and education and empowers recipients to implement compelling ideas to advance science education. HHMI seeks scientists passionate about sharing their knowledge and becoming a model for other faculty members, both inside and outside their home institution
